Case Study

During this course, we recommend that you keep a record of each of your practice sessions as a case study.

Required to Complete the Course: To complete the course, It is recommended that you submit via email, at any time during the course, a case study that you want to use for your final exam. Your instructor will review it and give you feedback and let you know if you pass or if you need to try again.

What is a Case Study? A case study is a detailed report about a person who is experiencing a problem in their life. This could be physical, spiritual, mental or emotional. You may ask a friend, family member or anyone that may be open and willing to be your client for this assignment. Please let them know that their name will remain confidential. You, as the student, will learn to identify and describe the problem and symptoms the client is experiencing by gathering information that will lead you to a spiritual diagnosis, and then finally a solution. A successful case study will then result in the problem being fully resolved or healed for your client.

Case Study Outline:
1. List the problem or problems your client is experiencing. If they are experiencing more than one problem, then determine if they are related or if they could actually be separate case studies. They may have more than one problem and the problems may or may not be related.
2. List any physical, spiritual, mental or emotional symptoms your client is currently having.
3. Pinpoint when the problem started. One of the ways to do this is to ask your client to close their eyes and ask them to remember a time before this problem started. Then ask them to describe the events that happened that led up to the start of the problem.
4. If it is a physical problem, then identify the physical and emotional connection
5. Spiritually diagnose the problem
6. Find a solution and conduct appropriate healing methods, tools and exercises
7. Create an action plan for continued healing if needed
8. Follow-up and review results

Example Case Study:
1. Client has a urinary tract infection.
2. Pain going to the bathroom and frustration that the infection is distracting them from their work.
3. Problem started about three days ago.
4. Client became very upset and frustrated with an employee that was not following direction.
5. When the client became upset with the employee they held it in and allowed it to continue to frustrate them to the point of anger instead of talking with them to find out why they were not following direction. Client unknowingly and unintentionally manifested the physical problem within themselves in the form of a urinary tract infection by holding onto the frustration and anger. At this point, the client gave their power away to the situation instead of addressing it in the moment.
6. Client has a talk with employee to see why they were not following direction. Employee appreciates them for asking and explains that they are feeling guilt from the recent loss of their mother and felt like they couldn’t do anything right. Employee now feels better just by talking about the loss to the client. Employee also feels a new and genuine caring connection with the client that will result in the employee doing a good job at work.
7. Client continues to check in with employ often.
8. Client’s Urinary tract infection heals because the client is no longer frustrated or holding on to their anger.
